Abstract

The aim of the present study was to investigate the relationship between the personality characteristics of bank branches managers and the rate of deposit attracting from people (customers’ financial resources) in Keshavarzi Banks in Khuzestan province, Iran. In this study, a survey research method was used. The statistical population was all the superior, first rate, second rate and third rate branches of Keshavarzi Bank in Khuzestan province which were active in 2007. Cattell’s inventory was used as a tool for collecting data, and its stability was confirmed by Cronbach’s alpha equal to 0.89. Our findings show that there is a negative and significant relationship between the managers’ authoritarian level and the rate of deposit attracting. Moreover, the results indicate that there is a significant relationship between managers extroversion and the rate of deposit attracting in Keshavarzi Banks in Khuzestan province in 2005, but this relation is rejected in 2006 and 2007, and the results for 2005 and 2006 indicate the lack of significant relationship between managers self-confidence and deposit attraction rate in the bank branches under study. However, this relation is confirmed for 2007. Finally, there is a significant relationship between the risk taking level in managers and attracting the deposits of customers in Keshavarzi Banks of Khuzestan province in 2006, but this relation is not confirmed for 2005 and 2007.
