The Effect of Safety Management System on Situation of Construction Projects (Case Study: Sepand Project of Niavaran at Tehran)

Abstract


International experience has shown that with the advancement of technology in society, health, safety and the environment are at risk and it is necessary for human life to preserve these three categories to survive. The purpose of this paper is to examine the role and importance of health, safety and environment (HSE) in the constructionfrom different points of view and stressed the need for integrated management of health, safety and the environment in this field. The content on this research using authentic local and international literature review of health, safety and the environment related to construction has been collected. Results of this study show that respect and maintain the HSE is one of the principles of sustainable development; the ultimate goal of each of these three issues is to maintain health and human life and to consider three issues leading to greater productivity; a successful management system health, safety and the environment can only be preventive approach to accidents and occupational diseases and environmental damage; as with any other management system, resulting in ease of implementation and performance culture HSEMS is appropriate.

Since contractors play an important role in country's development projects, it is essential that the HSE is focused more; in all construction companies in the world, focusing HSE is inevitable so that without the implementation of the management, actually undermine the legitimacy of their activities and it is essential that the projects we are taking a cue from these companies over the past attention to this important cause. Given the importance of the subject and the lack of research in this field, in this article we have tried building process, challenges and needs related to building safety review. The main study of this article is to investigateSepand construction projects as one of the major construction projects in the region in Tehran. This is cross-sectional and field study. Given the level of acceptable risk can be achieved in the Sepand project that established a successful HSE team with a high level of satisfaction (according to statistical analysis) led to increasing profitability and reducing events.
